Established in November 1989, Bahn Nah
was the first Thai restaurant in Yorkshire. It
was the conception of an idea by Sompranee and Foong Low who wanted to offer
Sheffielders more choice than the glut of Chinese, Indian, and Italian restaurants
at that time.
|
effort is spared in producing the finest authentic Thai cuisine to compensate for the lack of size. The unvarying high standard of Bahn Nah cuisine is attested by its continual entry in the Harden's UK Restaurants 2004 and Qualify Food On Line. The ethos of Bahn Nah, which means 'cottage in a paddy field', is to offer discerning diners the chance to sample some of the exquisite culinary tradition in Thailand that exploits the regular supply of a wide variety of basic ingredients, fresh meat, fish, rice, vegetables, fruits and fresh herbs and spices. From the compact |
kitchen comes delightful exotic appetizers such as stuffed chicken wings, authentic spicy fish cakes, prawns in blanket, chicken wrapped in pandan leaves, shitake mushroom sateh; taste bud tingling 'tum yum kung' or the floating market soup; and mouth watering traditional dishes like green chicken curry, spicy panang chicken curry, squid with garlic and black pepper, chilli fish or the ever appealing pad thai (thai style fried noodles).
Other contemporary dishes on offer include steamed seabass with ginger, pickled plums and spring onions, |
salmon curry souffle and chicken sateh rice.
At Bahn Nah no attempts are made to modify authentic recipes to 'adapt' to local tastes, unless specifically
requested to do so by the customer; nor is any Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) added to any food to
artificially enhance the flavours.
We are proud of our extensive menu, which has been carefully selected and perfected over the last 17 years. To find out more about Thai cuisine, speak to our highly qualified friendly staff who will endeavour to guide you to an unforgettable gastronomic experience. |
